Join the minority of marketers!

The majority of marketers (53%) can't find stuff fast enough – and 90% say that damages morale and creativity.

And the latest analysis by London Research, derived from 700 global brand managers last month, says silos of separate marketing assets “destroys agility and creates danger.”

The report details five key actions for marketers to respond to the challenge as marketing operations demand more flexibility in the current Covid crisis.

In "The State of Universal Content Management 2020" report conducted by London Research and publlished in May 2020, It polled 700 global brand marketers, business professionals and their agencies. The findings reveal that, even before the crisis, content marketers were raising red flags. Specifically:
  • More than half (53%) of respondents say they waste too much time trying to find content assets that may or may not exist.
  • This has an impact on morale as nearly 9-in-10 marketers say marketing should be about the freedom to create and implement game-changing ideas, instead of getting bogged down in administrative tasks.
  • 59% of respondents waste considerable time and money on content-related tasks.
  • 63% of businesses say they do not have a centralized content management hub, making it difficult to pivot quickly.
  • 68% of businesses, and 87% of agencies, say they are unable to integrate digital and print workflows for the best possible customer experience.
The report identifies five key actions for organizations looking to make the pivot:
  • Creating a Single Source of Truth. Work to centralize content governance and management through one integrated hub.
  • Banishing Silos. Don't manage content per channel. Content is often handled by separate teams and separate systems in separate regions—for print, social and the Web. This destroys agility and creates danger.
  • Picking a Mandatory Approach. Should content be handled globally or locally? Whatever the decision is, the plan must be clear, KPIs established and measurement in place.
  • Auditing the Admin Tasks. Administrative tasks create bottlenecks and a resource drain if not assessed and managed.
  • Integrating Your Tech Stack. Companies with an integrated central content hub are three-and-a-half times more likely than mainstream companies to strongly agree that they are 'consistently meeting or exceeding their communication goals.' That's why it's almost shocking to see how few companies have aligned their content management software with related technologies (e.g. CRM, DAM, PIM, MRM.)

We’re passionate about collaborating with partners because we understand the mutual rewards it brings. Over time, we’ve cultivated strong partnerships with design agencies, printers, and direct marketing specialists. What began as client relationships have evolved into valuable partnerships. Our partners have continually challenged us to develop solutions and make modifications that cater to their clients' evolving needs. This collaborative environment nurtures innovation and creativity. They bring a deep understanding of their clients' requirements and excel in marketing, while we contribute our expertise in technology, resulting in the creation of innovative products and solutions. Some examples of this work: Delivering print ready files directly into a printers press management system Integrating with a property mapping engine to derive customised direct mail pieces Carrying out custom development for exhibition and event collateral production and management Witnessing the benefits it offers, our partners have introduced multiple clients to our Resourcebase platforms. An engaging homepage is just as important on an employee facing web platform as it is on a company website. It should welcome the user and direct them to the parts of the platform you want them to engage with whilst encouraging them to explore the platform in more depth. 'Many of our clients run multiple campaigns across the year and they need their users get to this content quickly and easily' said David Spragg, Resourcebase Managing Director. To meet this challenge we went back to the drawing board and worked with several clients to come up with a format that met their needs and was simple to administer. A CMS was created to build 'active' panels that link to the content in one click. Panels can feature animations, images, icons or pure text for news stories or background information. Drag 'n Drop allows the panels to be configured and re-configured to suit. 'As we've rolled this out to clients the feedback has been really positive with many reporting increased engagement from their users' added David. We're setting up an alert function so users are notified of new content as soon as it's live.

Premier Vet Alliance has chosen to work with Resourcebase to develop its marketing portal for veterinary practices. Marketing Manager Holly Hill commented '‘We recognise that many practices don't have the budgets for lots of marketing and our Content Cloud gives them access to a range of professionally designed, customisable material for social media content, advertising and print collateral, all at no cost. In a recent PVA clinic survey, 63% of responders could see the benefits of digital marketing to veterinary clinics and wanted more content to share with their followers and build their profile' 'As a UK business with a growing presence in the U.S.A, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany and France, our Resourcebase platform will allow us to launch campaigns and new content simultaneously in all markets,' added Holly. Marc Stephenson from Resourcebase said: ‘It’s been great working with Premier Vet Alliance and to build a solution for veterinary clinics. The content is instant, flexible and almost completely customisable. The clinics are sure to get finished results that look like they have been created by professional designers!’

Leading London charity St Christopher’s needed a more efficient and accessible way to manage and share an expanding range of digital assets across a network of operations, volunteers and retail outlets. Originally founded by Dame Cicely Saunders, St Christopher’s has been a pioneer in the field of palliative medicine and every year, the charity provides care and support to over 6,500 people across south east London, both at home and in the hospice. The charities' strapline 'More than just a hospice' is particularly apt; as well as the day-to-day running of the hospice St Christophers operates a successful chain of 24 retail shops in London, organises a number of well-supported community and sporting events across the year and runs an extensive calendar of education courses for professionals and volunteers. As a non-profit organisation, marketing to attract donors and engage with the community is a key priority. To ensure staff and partners are easily able to access the best and most appropriate content the charity has implemented a Resourcebase platform to act as a single brand source for their promotional and international educational work.

Resourcebase has added a powerful file transfer from within the Resourcebase desktop to help organisations centralise and manage their file sending functions. The Flyte application is a no-cost option with Resourcebase which replaces our clients' ad-hoc accounts with WeTransfer, Dropbox, Sharefile, et al – reducing the proliferation of such applications that is common in many companies. A key benefit is that Flyte is trackable, maintaining a history of file transfer operations within the Resourcebase user records.

Claire Lincoln launched Resourcebase within a major health insurance company to meet the distributed marketing needs of several thousand partners in dental and veterinary practices across the UK. Practices have access to a range of templates for social media posts, leaflets, posters, adverts and appointment cards and pull up banners. Each practice has a profile to hold logos and key data used to auto-populate fields in templates – this speeds up production and ensures accuracy. "This was a massive win for us," says Claire. "It's been an invaluable tool for us and our clients and has just really provided an amazing amount of flexibility for everyone involved." Watch the two-minute video of Claire's experience...
