AAn exciting new future
for templating

2026 upgrade for Resourcebase dynamic artwork

Resourcebase is being transformed in 2026 with an all-new template platform that keeps the best of what we already have, and supercharges it with a wealth of new features:

Live previews

Users will see their text update live on the big preview as they type, improving accuracy and reducing the time it takes to complete their customisation. Replaced images will preview faster and the final files will process more quickly.

Online tagging

Tagging is done online using a flexible new interface, without the need for a separate desktop app. New options control access to text styling and image handling by end users.

Motion templates

End users will be able to swap out pre-prepared video and animations in a template, then edit any text like a price, a date or an offer – ideal for social media, web adverts and banners.

Brand kit

Consolidate and manage your brand components in one place – fonts, colours, styles and logos – and ensure their consistent use across all types of marketing templates.

Dynamic re-size

Designers will be able to create once and then re-size many times for different formats and layouts for web and print layouts. End-users will be able to quickly select from pre-determined options.

Online template artwork creation

Designers will have a new approach to create, replicate and re-purpose new template artwork, at pace.
This is an optional alternative to the current InDesign and PDF workflow and will accelerate less complex tasks.

Mass personalisation

Easily connect a template to a .csv to automatically generate multiple versions at scale. Ideal for direct mail, event invites, personalised customer offers, flyers and brochures.

Enhanced image studio with AI

Creators and/or end users can be given access to a suite of AI creative tools to easily enhance DAM assets (inc. the removal/extension of backgrounds, cut-outs and vectorisation of logo images).

 And some other benefits...

  • Design validation tools to preflight print projects
  • Right-to-left font handling (for Arabic type, etc.)
  • Improved auto-generation of QR code artwork
  • Content moderation tools to flag text and images that violate your guidelines
  • Video editor for designers to create and edit video and animation sequences and templates
  • Integration if required with additional commercial image libraries
  • Multi-design style options from common data for demographic marketing

 What happens next?

In the first half of 2026:

  • We'll migrate the current templates into the new platform. We'll do this as seamlessly as possible and without interruption to the current operation.
  • We'll ask you for InDesign files for the current templates. If InDesign is not available, we'll work from PDF files.
  • End-users will enjoy a seamless changeover and they'll start to notice the instant previews and fast file deliveries!
  • We'll be offering training to designers to work with the new template management and tagging functions.

In the second half of 2026:

  • We'll start introducing the new functions such as dynamic re-size, animation and motion templates.
  • Our clients will be asked what's most most valuable to them and we'll give those features priority.

 What does it all cost?

  • Most of the enhanced functionality is being introduced free of charge.
  • There will be a small charge for the optional premium tools for animation and video templating.
